An Historic Season for Wildfires
Yesterday, as the wildfires raged along the West Coast a severe windstorm fanned the flames and contributed to significant spread of current wildfires not far from the Portland Metro Area. Many in our area have seen power outages but worse is that thousands of fellow Oregonians - in nearby Clackamas, Marion, and Linn counties - have been displaced and evacuated. Our hearts go out to those affected by the fires.
As a result of these fires, Oregon has been making headlines with the worst Air Quality Index (AQI) in the world. We urge community members to stay indoors as much as possible. You can improve your home air quality by making some simple changes.
Seal out smoke - close flues, keep windows and doors closed, cover gaps
Clean or replace HVAC filters
Turn on your HVAC system’s fan function to keep air circulating
Make a DIY air filter

Stay aware of our AQI and be safe!
